General Music
Teacher: Mrs.
Crowe
Students will study
the elements of music through the use of the electronic keyboard,
games, quizzes, and lectures. Songs will be sung that studies various
cultures and their music. Finally, the history of music will be
discovered through the studying of various composers.

Health
Teacher: Mr.
Madson
During Health,
students will begin the quarter by studying the human nervous
system and the senses. We will also study about exercise and the
cardiovascular system, and us the ADAM computer program to improve
understanding of human anatomy with assistance from Adam and Eve
Cyborg. Students will become friends with Joe Schlabotnik and his
brother Eddie, as they learn about the major parts and systems of
the body and how they work together.

Art
Teacher:
Miss Harms
Students
will be creating a wide variety of projects that will
introduce new techniques and styles of art. They will work
two-dimensionally on perspective drawings as well as
three-dimensionally learning how to design a cup using clay.
Students will have the opportunity to experiment with not only
the mediums of lead and clay, but also with tempera painting
and charcoal drawing. In connection with these projects will
we learn about art history, focusing on master artists and
their style of art. The students will also keep a running
sketchbook for the quarter to see how they have improved
throughout class.

It is once again
time for the Holiday Concert season in the Middle School Music
Department. Our celebration begins with an instrumental showcase
featuring the 6th grade and 7th & 8th grade bands on Thursday,
November 16th at 7:30 PM in the Estebo Performing Arts Center.
