Educational Endowment

The Educational Endowment program was developed by the Foundation as a means of investing donations with the investment earnings used to fund projects that enhance programs and facilities in the Redwood Area School District.

 

Funds are made available annually through a grant process to school district staff.  Requests must met the intent of the Educational Endowment Program with priority given to funds requests that meet the following criteria:

           1)          Enhances the learning experience of a multiple number of students

             2)          Provides funding for items which are not eligible as a direct district

                          appropriation

             3)          Has a positive educational impact for students over an extended period of

                          time.

 

Educational Endowment program funds have been used for such items as special education assisted teaching technology, curriculum enhancement, extra-curricular equipment, Early Childhood Family Education projects, and technology.

 

Donations to the Educational Endowment Program may be given over a period of five consecutive years or less.  Gifts of $500 or more are recognized on an “Honor Roll” located in the entrance of the Redwood Valley Middle School/High School complexGifts of $5,000 or more entitle the donor to have an area of the school named as the donor designates.

 

The Redwood Area Education Foundation will accept a gift of any size into the Educational Endowment Program.  Undesignated gifts are preferred; however, the donor may designate how the proceeds of the gift shall be used and the Foundation will attempt to preserve the donor’s original intent.  The Redwood Area Education Foundation reserves the right to use up to 3% of investments for administrative fees.
